Real Estate Movies

Here’s something fun to blog about for the Austin local movers. Since the moving industry is so closely related and even affected by what’s happening in real estate, the All My Sons of Austin with the help of RentedSpaces.com is bringing you the Top 5 Real Estate Movies. Enjoy!

The Amityville Horror (1979): The Amityville house located in Long Island was supposed to be the dream home of a young couple who blew off the fact that a horrible mass murder happened there before they bought the place…until the walls start bleeding.

Pacific Heights: A young couple wants to fix up their newly bought Victorian house, so to help cover the costs they rent out a converted apartment in their place to who they thought was a nice man. He turns out to make their life a living hell.

Poltergeist: A couple moves into a house in a nice suburban neighborhood, but what they didn’t know is that the house is built on a old cemetery that was transported to another location.

The Money Pit: A young couple buys a mansion at a ridiculous price but they minute they move in, it starts to fall apart. Staircases collapse, bathtub crashes through the top floor and more real estate disasters.

Neighbors: An obnoxious family moves next door to a suburban, quiet man and the war between the two camps begins.

Hire Professional Movers

According to courthousenews.com, just last month a woman claimed that an owner of a trucking company stole her rare Elvis Presley memorabilia while she was moving from California to her new home in Austin, TX. She said the police found some of the stolen property at the homes of the employees of the trucking company. The article goes on to say that these collection items spanned decades of irreplaceable memorabilia and was worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
This is just another example of why you should be very careful when it comes to selecting reliable movers. You want to make sure the moving company you are hiring deals directly with you and you don’t have to go through brokers. Make sure they are licensed and insured and that they have a good reputation. Check out credentials and ask around if anyone you know has used their moving services before. If you’re moving to Austin and its surrounding areas, just give the local Austin movers a call for a group of highly experienced movers and a trustworthy team. All My Sons of Austin has successfully completed countless moves, including residential moves and commercial moves, not to mention long-distance moves or interstate ones. You’ll definitely be in good hands when you move with the Austin local movers.

All My Sons and Charity Initiatives

Just recently and in time for the holidays, All My Sons Moving and Storage delivered toys to the kids of Children’s Medical Center, a hospital dedicated to making life better for sick children and kids with serious illnesses. The Children’s Medical Center is actually a private, nonprofit, pediatric healthcare provider completely dedicated to children from birth to 18 years of age. All My Sons Moving started the toy drive in late September with all of its 38 offices in the goal of replenishing the toy chest in the hospital. The way it works, is that every time a child completes a treatment, they get to choose their favorite toy from the toy chest. Our movers were very happy and proud to take part in such a rewarding experience, all hoping to put a smile on children’s faces and their families. It was the holidays after all and soon the beginning of a hopefully healthier year for all these children. All My Sons Moving Charities is committed to giving back to the communities we serve. Top 5 Things To Do Before Your Move

Everyone knows moving involves a bunch of chores that need to be taken care of. All My Sons of Austin and the Austin moving crew have put together a quick Top 5 list of things that need to get done the next time you decide to pack up and head out to a brand new place:

Sign a lease or buy a home. Before you move, have a place your happy with. Don’t move if you haven’t settled on a place you like.

Find a reputable moving company you can trust. That’s very important, there are many scams out there, you don’t want to be caught in it. Check credentials, do your research and ask for referrals.

Fill out a change of address form. Make sure all your mail gets forwarded to your new home, you don’t want to miss anything important.

Cancel utilities and set them up in your new home. This way you won’t be paying extra for your former home and you’ll already have utilities in your new place. This is important especially if you work from home or need the internet.

When packing, don’t forget to prepare an extra box or two that you can ‘live out’ of for the first few days in your new place. Everything will still be in boxes, but you’ll probably need a few essentials like a toothbrush, work clothes, cell phone charger and anything else you use on a daily basis.
