Decorating a bedroom

After the movers have left and the moving boxes are somewhat unpacked, you’ll get to the decorating part of moving into a new home, apartment or townhouse. The Austin movers suggest having fun with and every separate room you have around the house, from the dining room to the living room and even the bedroom. In your master bedroom, there is truly a lot you can do, because there are different pieces you can decorate like the bed, the dressers, an of course, the space itself. The bed will take up most of the room, so you know it will make the most impact. The local Austin movers suggest you really fix it up. Get pillows as well as decorative pillows, fancy sheets, the bedspread with matching accessories, think about color, textures and patterns too. Pile it onto the bed for a great centerpiece in your bedroom. You can also jazz up your dresser. Think about adding a vase with fresh flowers or mount a decorative mirror above it too. You can hang other things on the wall to spruce up your bedroom. Think about art, photographs, decorative wall units with candles attached, light sconces, quilts, even sections of patterned wallpaper that you can apply directly to the wall.

Great Job from Austin Movers

I personally wanted to thank the local Austin movers for helping move my marketing office from a location in Cedar Park to another place in Cedar Park too. My office isn’t too big, we have 6 employees total but we did have a lot of equipment to deal with. Lots of filing cabinets, desks, computers, printers, office supplies, even a conference table and chairs. The account manager that works with me had used All My Sons of Austin about three months before for a residential move because she had bought a house that was closer to the office, so she told me all about them. When I called, they told me they did commercial moves too so I booked them right away. The day of the move, everything went really smoothly. The Austin moving crew was really professional and efficient. They dind’t waste anytime, and got right to business. Before I knew it, desks were loaded on their moving truck, computers, the conference table and the numerous moving boxes we had packed with office supplies, trade books and all that good stuff. I was really happy I chose to work with All My Sons of Austin. This testimonial is by Will F., Cedar Park, TX

Types of Moving Boxes

When you’re moving the first thing you need to do is gather up some boxes to securely pack your personal belongings. And as moving professionals, All My Sons of Austin suggest you really get an array of different moving boxes that are going to serve your residential move differently. For example, to pack the clothing from your closet, don’t just go for any old box, purchase wardrobe boxes that make it easy for you to transfer and unpack the clothes in your new home. A wardrobe box has a rod on which you can hang your clothes and is heavy duty so your things are protected and stored while in the moving truck. A wardrobe box is really like a portable closet. Small moving boxes are ideal for smaller items that you’d like to keep bundled up and together. Thin CDs, extra canned foods, toiletries, small kitchen items or even small appliances like little blenders that you’d like to keep all the parts to. Medium and large boxes is for everything else, like toys, linens, bigger appliances, books and other personal belongings. All My Sons Moving and Storage invites you to shop for different moving kits and boxes on our website so you can find professional grade materials to pack your precious things in, especially fine china and collectibles.

Real Estate News For the U.S.

According to First American CoreLogic, a company that collects data on millions of mortgages packed into securities for investors, reports that nearly one in four home loans nationally is now larger than the actual value of the home that back it. All My Sons of Austin movers learned that in the last three months of 2009, the decreasing home prices and accumulated debts pushed 620,000 homeowners into the negative zone. Nevada has been hit hard, with 70% of homeowners owing more than their homes are worth. Arizona has more than half of the borrowers underwater and Florida has 49%. New York is doing the best, with only 6.3% of borrowers owing more than their homes are worth partly due to the constant housing shortage there. The good news is that according to HousingWatch.com, for most homeowners, this is just a temporary setback and odds are the value will eventually recover. Negative equity in today’s economy is a way of life. It makes it hard to sell or to refinance, but it’s something that a lot of people are experiencing together. Don’t Forget About The First-Time Homebuyer Tax Credit

All My Sons of Austin has mentioned the First-Time Homebuyer Tax Credit of up to $8,000 before but we just want to remind people that it’s extended until April 30, 2010. This legislation was passed by Congress in order to stimulate the U.S. housing market. So if you’re in the market to buy a home, you should take advantage. To qualify as a ‘first-time homebuyer’, you can’t have owned a residence in the past. The house you’d potentially want to buy can represent all types of homes, single-family homes, condos, townhouses and co-ops. The buyer’s credit amount will be determined based on the price of the home and the buyer’s income. Under this legislation, the credit may only be awarded on homes that are bought for less than $800,000. So as long as you have a written biding contract to purchase a property by April 30,2010, you’ll have until July 1, 2010 to actually close. If you find a dream home in the Austin area, don’t forget your professional movers, the Austin local movers to do the move for you. Great Job From All My Sons of Houston

Our friends, the local Houston movers, just recently completed a move for the Shriners Hospital of Galveston. Shriners had a massive renovation and improvement project after the damages left by Hurricane Ike. The hospital had to close down for a little over a year. Our friendly Houston movers were contacted in October of last year to move and store items for the Shriners Family Center which houses families while their kids are being treated at the Shriners Burn Center. So just recently, the All My Sons of Houston moving company unloaded the 16 vaults of furniture out their warehouse and delivered everything back to the Shriners Family Center. Hire Professional Movers

According to courthousenews.com, just last month a woman claimed that an owner of a trucking company stole her rare Elvis Presley memorabilia while she was moving from California to her new home in Austin, TX. She said the police found some of the stolen property at the homes of the employees of the trucking company. The article goes on to say that these collection items spanned decades of irreplaceable memorabilia and was worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
This is just another example of why you should be very careful when it comes to selecting reliable movers. You want to make sure the moving company you are hiring deals directly with you and you don’t have to go through brokers. Make sure they are licensed and insured and that they have a good reputation. Check out credentials and ask around if anyone you know has used their moving services before. If you’re moving to Austin and its surrounding areas, just give the local Austin movers a call for a group of highly experienced movers and a trustworthy team. All My Sons of Austin has successfully completed countless moves, including residential moves and commercial moves, not to mention long-distance moves or interstate ones. All My Sons and Charity Initiatives

Just recently and in time for the holidays, All My Sons Moving and Storage delivered toys to the kids of Children’s Medical Center, a hospital dedicated to making life better for sick children and kids with serious illnesses. The Children’s Medical Center is actually a private, nonprofit, pediatric healthcare provider completely dedicated to children from birth to 18 years of age. All My Sons Moving started the toy drive in late September with all of its 38 offices in the goal of replenishing the toy chest in the hospital. The way it works, is that every time a child completes a treatment, they get to choose their favorite toy from the toy chest. Our movers were very happy and proud to take part in such a rewarding experience, all hoping to put a smile on children’s faces and their families. It was the holidays after all and soon the beginning of a hopefully healthier year for all these children. All My Sons Moving Charities is committed to giving back to the communities we serve. For more information on our charity initiative, go to All My Sons Moving Charities.

Top 5 Things To Do Before Your Move

Everyone knows moving involves a bunch of chores that need to be taken care of. All My Sons of Austin and the Austin moving crew have put together a quick Top 5 list of things that need to get done the next time you decide to pack up and head out to a brand new place:

Sign a lease or buy a home. Before you move, have a place your happy with. Don’t move if you haven’t settled on a place you like.

Find a reputable moving company you can trust. That’s very important, there are many scams out there, you don’t want to be caught in it. Check credentials, do your research and ask for referrals.

Fill out a change of address form. Make sure all your mail gets forwarded to your new home, you don’t want to miss anything important.

Cancel utilities and set them up in your new home. This way you won’t be paying extra for your former home and you’ll already have utilities in your new place. This is important especially if you work from home or need the internet.

When packing, don’t forget to prepare an extra box or two that you can ‘live out’ of for the first few days in your new place. Everything will still be in boxes, but you’ll probably need a few essentials like a toothbrush, work clothes, cell phone charger and anything else you use on a daily basis.
